| It approches, gradually and steadily. Leaves change their color. The air, brisk and clean. The sky a deep, gorgeous shade of blue, painted by God Himself.
I love this season change, from Summer's heat into the relief of Fall and Winter. I think these are my two favorite seasons, which I always look forward to with great anticipation. As a child, I've always loved the gorgeous scenery of fall, the soft and comforting landscape of newly fallen snow and perhaps everything that goes along with the season. It seems every year I get so excited about the coming seasons!
Here are some of my very favorite things during this time of the year:
- Apple Cider

- Hiking in the fall

- Reading (and getting lost in) a great book, sitting warm and cozy by the fireplace

- Skiing in the mountains

- Warm feel-good cups of coffee at any time of the day

- Saturday College Football

- Great Christmas-time movies
- And most importantly, CHRISTmas!
- And so, so much more.
How about you guys? What do you love about Fall and Winter?

| Well, I've been pretty busy of late... I just switched jobs and I'm loving LOVING it! Its really great to work with students here (I am teaching one class right now) and I am really enjoying it so much. Its a great blessing from the Lord.
I suppose that's why I haven't posted in forever... not really any time during the day anymore!!! (But that's a good thing.)
Enough about that. If you're one of those [normal] people out there who are against murder, your blood might boil, as it did mine, to read of the continuing spineless acts of the great red dragon of consumer sales - Wal Mart.
LaShawn Barber (who if don't read - you need to) writes:
Until last week, Wal-Mart was also not selling the “morning after” pill,
probably for liability reasons. On February 14, Valentine’s Day, Wal-Mart was ordered to sell the pill because failing to do so violated
state law. Pharmacies are required to sell “commonly prescribed medications.”
Some smart-aleck lawyer obviously convinced the state that “emergency
contraception” was a “commonly prescribed medication.”
I wonder if anyone threatened to sue Wal-Mart when it stopped selling guns?
Unlike owning “morning after” pills, owning guns is a constitutional right.
Moreover, Wal-Mart and any other business has a right to sell or not
sell certain products. But the ever-present and expanding nanny-state government
stuck its nose in Wal-Mart’s business and ordered it to sell a product.
Unbelievable. -- http://lashawnbarber.com/archives/2006/02/20/guns/
Seriously, this makes me want to boycott walmart stores, even though this isn't happening in Kentucky. Its murder-for-money-over-morals for Wal-Mart... and no surpise really.
LaShawn continues:
I’ve got this radical idea floating around in my head. Did you know that
abstaining from sex prevents pregnancy and abortion 100 percent of the time?
Waiting until marriage to copulate will increase an unborn baby’s chances of
being “wanted” and diminish the “financial burden” excuse for killing him. And
having two parents, an intact family, is better for children than one parent,
generally speaking.

| Well, I've been buuuuuuuuuuuuuusy of late!
But there has been much to thank the Lord over.
I think I've got a grip on all the recent changes that've been happening, so that's a good thing. I am teaching a class at Murray State which has taken alot of time to kinda get settled into since I've had zero prep time, nor do I have much time during the day to prepare. But now that its underway, I feel like I've got a handle of it.
But more importantly... I got the job at Murray State! I am now Murray State's newest Network Technician! Basically, that means I will be helping out the with the computer systems at Murray, teach one or two classes and take classes for free, with the idea being that I'll get my Master's degree free!
This has been something that I've been praying over for many many months now, perhaps even over a year, and I'm so excited that the Lord made it possible! For a long while I didn't know if this was what I was going to do or not with my work-life (at least in the short run) but the Lord has opened the door and I'm super excited to step through it!
